Aviemore is an ideal all-year-round holiday location. There are holiday activities to suit many interests and hobbies. The centre of Aviemore, with its many facilities, is about a 10 minute walk or a few minutes by car.
There is a wide range of shops, restaurants and bars, doctor and dentist, entertainment, laundry and tourist information. At the Coylumbridge hotel in Rothiemurchus non-residents can make use of the superb Cyril Squirrel’s childrens’ play barn.
There are many golf courses within a short distance including the new Spey Valley Championship Course 150 yards away. Boat of Garten, Grantown-on-Spey, Kingussie and Carrbridge are a short drive away and Nairn, Dornoch, Tain and Castle Stuart are within easy reach. We now have free use of the 9 hole golf course at Dalfaber Country Club for 2 adults and 2 children (5 minutes walk away)!
Sailing is available on Loch Morlich and Loch Insch.
The area is suitable for walkers of any standard from walks through forest trails to climbing on the Cairngorms.
Aviemore is ideal for cycling. Roads are generally quiet and there is an abundance of off-road tracks and forest trails. Bring your own cycle or hire in Aviemore or Rothiemurchus.
Visit the Osprey at Boat of Garten.
Travel on the Strathspey steam railway between Aviemore and Boat of Garten.
Try the trout farm, The Spey or other local rivers and lochs.
Visit the battlefield at Culloden, the historic Ruthven barracks, Loch Ness and many others.
Sail with the dolphins on the Morray Firth at Inverness or just watch them race in with the tide.
Ski on the Cairngorms in the winter or take the Cairngorm Funicular Railway to the top all year round. The ski conditions this year are fabulous!

Our guests can use the pool and leisure facilities there free of charge. Just cross the road at the end of our street and take the path through the trees and round the lochan!
